Gum disease? Receding gums? We now offer a “lunchtime gum lift” | Medford Dentist

Do you have receding gums that are exposing tooth roots, creating space where bacteria can develop, or affecting the appearance of your smile?

Receding gums can be both a cosmetic and dental health issue and should be treated to avoid developing advanced gum disease and possible tooth loss. Dr. Parnaik has recently trained to become certified in a unique new procedure called Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation, or the “lunchtime gum lift”. Named so because it is a quick, minimally invasive, and relatively painless procedure, the gum lift was developed by Dr. John Chao and has become a revolutionary way to treat receding gums without grafting.

Traditional methods involved the use of grafting tissue from the palate- an often painful procedure with a lengthy recovery for patients. The Pinhole Gum Lift uses tiny “pinhole” incisions which allow Dr. Parnaik to gently massage existing gum tissue down and into place over exposed tooth roots or the top of the teeth.

Results can give patients a brand new smile- and help to prevent tooth damage and gum disease often associated with receding gums that are left untreated.

Dr. Parnaik can assess the condition of your gum tissue and determine if you are a candidate for this procedure during a consultation. For patients who have struggled with increased tooth sensitivity, sensitive gums and an overly “toothy” smile, this can be a life changer!
