Dental Implants Medford, NJ

If you have missing teeth or are faced with the prospect of losing your teeth, you may be a candidate for dental implants. Dental implants have the highest long term success rate for replacing missing teeth and allowing people to enjoy the same (or better!) quality of life they had with their natural teeth.

Medford dentist Dr. Poorva Parnaik will determine if dental implants are right for you. She will coordinate her treatment plan with a periodontist who will place the dental implant. Dr. Parnaik will restore the implant in her Medford dental office using either a dental crown, bridge or denture.

Benefits of Dental Implants:

Patients who have dental implants compared to a dental bridge or denture have a much higher rate of satisfaction with their restoration. Other benefits include:

  • 95% success rate
  • Improved bone and gum health (compared to alternative restorations)
  • Permanent – no chance of slippage as with dentures
  • Avoids degradation of healthy teeth (as in conventional bridgework)
  • Improves appearance of the smile and lower face

About the Dental Implant Procedure

Dr. Parnaik will create a personalized treatment plan and coordinate with an oral surgeon or periodontist who will perform the surgery. The procedure generally takes place over 2 to 3 visits.

The periodontist on the team will perform the placement of the implant in our Medford dental office. A tiny titanium post will be inserted into the bone to act as the replacement tooth root. The dental implant takes 3 to 6 months to heal.

Dr. Parnaik will perform the implant restoration which involves attaching the artificial tooth to the dental implant post. For a single missing tooth, Dr. Parnaik will use a dental crown. For multiple missing teeth, she may use either a hybrid bridge or denture.

Your restoration will look and function the same as natural teeth. You will be able to brush and floss teeth normally. Routine visits to the dentist will ensure long term health and function of the dental implant.

Dental Implant FAQs

How much do dental implants cost?

Several factors go into determining the cost of dental implants including the number of implants needed, location of missing teeth and overall dental health. Dr. Parnaik will review all of your options as well as the cost of procedures prior to treatment. Most dental implant procedures are not covered by insurance, however, we will submit the necessary billing and documentation to your insurance company to allow for the maximum reimbursement. Dr. Parnaik also offers flexible payment options and interest free financing for qualified patients.

Are dental implants painful?

The dental implant procedure is not painful. You will be given a sedative to help you feel more comfortable and relaxed during the procedure. It is normal to experience some soreness following the dental implant surgery. This will usually subside within a few days of treatment. Once the implant has healed, you will not have any pain.

What are denture implants?

If you are missing all of your teeth or have an existing denture, Dr. Parnaik may recommend denture implants. Using as few as four dental implants, Dr. Parnaik can design a treatment plan that will replace the missing teeth with a fixed denture for better retention, improved health and higher quality of life.

Dental Implant Before & After

Before Dental Implant Treatment by Dr. ParnaikAfter Dental Implant Treatment by Medford, NJ Dentist Dr. Parnaik

This patient came to our Medford, NJ dentist office with a history of trauma on upper front tooth. She was unhappy with the discoloration of the old tooth crown on upper right front tooth. The tooth was fractured and dental implant treatment was recommended.

Working with the periodontist in our office, Dr. Parnaik coordinated a treatment plan that would remove the fractured tooth and replace it with a dental implant. After the implant was placed, the patient received a temporary restoration to replace function and esthetics during the healing process. After 3 months, Dr. Parnaik restored the implant with a metal free crown. The gingival discoloration is completely vanished and the patient now has a beautiful, natural looking smile.
